Health is something that touches every member of the community, but in an age of unlimited information it is hard to tell what to trust and what it just not true. Join the library for a health workshop sponsored by the UNT Health Science Center to explore how to evaluate reliable health information online and learn about the National Library of Medicine (NLM) resource MedlinePlus.gov.

Read Across Texas Book Discussion

Thursday, October 5th, 6:00 p.m - 7:30 p.m.

Join us for a discussion of Read Across Texas: The Veteran Experience book selection, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk by Ben Fountain. Copies of the books are available at the library reference desk, as supplies last, starting one month prior to the discussion group meeting. We have copies designated for Veteran and copies designated for non-Veteran community members. The goal is to utilize these books to create a community dialogue between Veteran and non-Veteran community members.

Craft a seasonal string art design to spruce up your space for fall. You bring a hammer, and we provide the supplies. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited, so you must register.  Registration is full for this event.

Come learn more about the paranormal and local area ghost investigations. Our presenter, Brandy Herr, is the co-founder of the Granbury Ghosts and Legends Tour and the annual Granbury Paranormal Expo. In February 2014, her book, Haunted Granbury, was released by The History Press as part of their Haunted America series. She is a member of Research and Investigation of the Paranormal and has participated in several ghost hunt investigations in the Granbury area.

Why should kids have all the fun? Join us at the library for a fun night of coloring and other paper crafts. The library will provide coloring sheets designed for adults, colored pencils, and light refreshments. Feel free to bring your own coloring and paper craft supplies!

Are you looking for the crochet class or knitting group? Don’t worry, the knitting and crochet groups have combined forces! The needlework group is a great way to meet fellow crafters who enjoy crochet, embroidery, knitting, or any other type of hand work. Share ideas and hone skills. Open to all ages and skill levels. Just bring your own materials (yarn, needles/hooks).

Join the book club on the third Thursday of each month! Adults of all ages are welcome to attend and discuss the book selection of the month. A free copy of the book may be picked up at the library information desk. Books are available on a first-come, first served basis.

Join us on the fourth Tuesday of every month for a book discussion and bagels. It’s a chance to share your thoughts on a book of your choosing that follows our theme for the month, and you will learn new titles to add to your must read list.
