Join us on the second Monday of every month for a matinee movie shown in our auditorium. Bottled water and snacks will be provided, along with a showing of an award winning film or musical.

The Needlework group is a great way to meet fellow crafters who enjoy crochet, embroidery, knitting, or any other type of hand work. Share ideas and hone skills. Open to all ages and skill levels. Just bring your own materials (yarn, needles/hooks).

Adults of all ages are welcome to attend and discuss the book selection of the month. A copy of the book can be picked up at the reference desk each month, while supplies last.

Join us on the fourth Tuesday of every month for a book discussion and breakfast (please note location above). It’s a chance to share your thoughts on a book of your choosing that follows our theme for the month, and you will learn new titles to add to your must read list.

Join board-certified music therapist Julia Sims for an in-depth look at the field of music therapy! We’ll discuss what music therapy is, how it came to be, what it takes to be a music therapist, and who can benefit from this evidence-based treatment approach. This presentation will include an exciting combination of discussion and experiential learning through group music-making.

Byron Temple (Wil Love) is a retired character actor struggling with the onset of dementia who wants to perform at his beloved summer theater one last time. Against the wishes of his over-protective daughter, he accepts a role from the newly installed Artistic Director, who is unaware of his condition. Writer/director John Putch’s beautiful, highly personal work is a masterful portrait of aging, dignity and the camaraderie of the theater.

Join us for a talk with Theresa Hocker, Executive Director Alzheimer’s Association, North Central Texas Chapter and a free showing of the film.

Remembering Comanche History and the Stories of Quanah Parker as told by Lance Tahmahkera, great-great grandson of Quanah Parker



Monday, July 16th, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Lance Tahmahkera, great-great grandson of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker, will share the origins of the Comanche tribe and its history/culture, tell stories of the tribe from the days of Quanah and Cynthia Ann Parker up to present day events, and share tribal children’s stories. He will also bring regalia, a buckskin dress, bow/arrows, old photos, etc. to talk about and pass around for everyone to see.

Calling all Parker County area performers 17 and older! We know we have some great talent in the area and this is your chance to show it off. This is NOT a contest, just a fun night to entertain us with your singing, rapping, beatboxing, or other musical skills.
Contact Rachel at rreeves@weatherfordtx.gov or 817-598-4207 for more information or to sign up to perform. Please choose which evening you would like to perform. There will be a time limit per performer and a limit on the number of performers.

Join us for our quarterly trivia night. Come alone or as a team.  Antebellum gift cards will be awarded to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. For one night, the library won’t help you find the answers.
