Music and Movement Image

Music and Movement Group - Provided by Early Childhood Services of North Central Texas 

8-week session: January 15th, 22nd, and 29th; February 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th; and March 5th

8-week session: March 26th; April 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th; May 7th and 14th.

For parents and their children, ages 0-3 (and siblings up to age 5). 
This group is designed to combine music and movement together in order to facilitate learning in a fun way. Children will be exposed to new words and practice following directions each week through the music selected. Active participation is highly encouraged!  No registration needed.

Every second Monday of the month, 

11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 

  • Movie Monday will not meet February - April. It will resume in May after tax season.
  • May 13th - Cold Mountain
Join us on the second Monday of every month for a matinee movie shown in our auditorium. Bottled water and snacks will be provided, along with a showing of an award winning film or musical.

Needlework Group

Every third Tuesday of the month, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

  • April 16th
  • May 21st

The Needlework group is a great way to meet fellow crafters who enjoy crochet, embroidery, knitting, or any other type of hand work. Share ideas and hone skills. Open to all ages and skill levels. Just bring your own materials (yarn, needles/hooks).

Every third Thursday of the month, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

  • April 18th - Dragon Teeth by Michael Crichton
  • May 16th - Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline

Adults of all ages are welcome to attend and discuss the book selection of the month. Copies of the selection for each month will be provided at the meeting the month prior, while supplies last. If you miss the meeting, please contact Rachel at or 817-598-4207 to see if any additional copies are available.

  • April 23rd - theme: a book with a beautiful cover
  • May 28th - theme: a book written for children or teens
Join us on the fourth Tuesday of every month for a book discussion and breakfast (please note location above). It’s a chance to share your thoughts on a book of your choosing that follows our theme for the month, and you will learn new titles to add to your must read list.

Compete as a team of 2 - 6 standing alone on the stage.Winning team will advance to regional, multi-library bee (date and location to be determined) to compete against other cities’ winners.

Join us for our quarterly trivia night. Come alone or as a team. Antebellum gift cards will be awarded to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. For one night, the library won’t help you find the answers.
