Public Information Requests
What is Public Information?
(a)  “public information” means information that is collected, assembled,
or maintained under a law or ordinance or in connection with the transaction of
official business:

(1) by a governmental body; or
(2) for a governmental body and the governmental body owns the information or has
a right of access to it.

When should I fill out a Public Information Request Form?
A public information request form is required for information such as:
  • City Contracts
  • City Employee Pay
  • Documents on Structures Built Within The City; i.e. plans, plats, code enforcement
  • City of Weatherford Vendors
  • Lake Weatherford Lot Information

What information does not require a Public Information Form?
  • Job Postings
  • Hours of Operation
  • City Council and or Board/Commission Minutes and Agendas
  • Board Applications
  • Simple Questions Regarding City or Department Policies or Practices

Genealogy and Ancestry Requests
Please note that the City of Weatherford does not maintain records for births, deaths, marriages, or divorces. Those records are maintained in the Parker County Clerks Office, Deeds and Records Divsion. They can be reached by phone at 817-594-7461.

Paper Request Form
If you prefer to make your request in writing, you may fill out the form, print it, and mail or hand-deliver it to the Office of the City Secretary at City Hall, 303 Palo Pinto, Weatherford, Texas. You may also fax it to the City Secretary's Office at 817-598-4115.
