Biography - Jerry Blaisdell
Jerry L. Blaisdell received an Associate in Arts Degree from Tarrant County Junior College in 1977 and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in Criminal Justice in 1991. He began his law enforcement career in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from their police academy in December 1966. During his career at Fort Worth Police Department, he held operational or command assignments in specialized enforcement functions to include Narcotics, Intelligence, SWAT and Community Based Policing. Jerry Blaisdell retired from Fort Worth Police Department at the rank of captain in July 1989 when he accepted the position of Chief of Police for the City of Weatherford. Blaisdell served as Weatherford’s Police Chief until July 2007 when he was named Acting Assistant City Manager. Jerry became the Assistant City Manager in April 2008. He was appointed Interim City Manager in September 2008 and became the City Manager on January 6, 2009.

Jerry is certified as a Master Peace Officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE). He received the Fort Worth Police Department Officer of the Year Award in 1973 and the Command Officer of the Year Award in 1977. Jerry attended the 117th session of the FBI National Academy and graduated in 1979. In 1984, Blaisdell received the Texas Police Narcotic Supervisor of the Year Award from the Texas War on Drugs Program. In 1997, he received the Parker County Citizen of the Year Award from the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce. Blaisdell is a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Associates, Inc., the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Rotary International, Texas Police Association, and the Texas Police Chief’s Association. Jerry and his wife Carol have three grown children, two of which are police officers, and six grandchildren.
