Keep Weatherford Beautiful Trash-Off

2023 Trash-Off Event Image

This is a fun competition where we break up into teams of 10 to see which team can gather the most litter. The Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off is the single largest one-day cleanup event in the state and serves as Texas’s signature event for the Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest community improvement program. Engaging more than 4 million volunteers and community members, like you, annually has led to a positive and lasting impact for environments across the nation. Your participation sends a clear message to Texas to end littering.

Winning team is awarded 2023 Keep Weatherford Beautiful Trash-Off trophies. Free lunch for all volunteers! We will have a Trash-Off scavenger hunt & "The Weirdest Find" competition. All gear such as visibility vests, disposable gloves and trash bags will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes/shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

To register to volunteer please email Horticulturist Jerri Pond at Email your name and any other volunteers that will be joining you.

 - 10 people per team, large groups will need to split up to make the competition fair.
- A map of the Trash-Off zones can be found here: If you know of an road in need of cleaning and is outside of the zones you may collect trash there and bring it to your zone's designated trash drop for counting. Please, no trash from your home and stay within city limits.
 - The map shows a red dot in each zone that represents a trash drop. There will be a sign posted at each drop that says "Keep Weatherford Beautiful Trash-Off drop here".
 - Each team is responsible for counting the amount of trash collected and dropping off their "report card" to our staff once you return to the Heritage Park Food Park at 11:45 am. Our Parks crew will recount the trash during the trash pickup process.
