Local Homeschool Groups
Cornerstone Collective
If you live in the Northwest corner of Parker County, this co-op in Decatur may be a good choice for your children to enjoy some time out of the house with friends. Classes meet on Thursdays at Cornerstone Baptist church and are elective based or unit study formats for all ages. There is also an option for special needs children. Topics to choose from include Music, Life Skills, PE, Strategy Games, Science, Music, Theater, Spanish, Sewing, Phonics, Math, Geography, and more (see schedule here) will fit a variety of interests to supplement your school week.
Independent Christian Academics and Networking
ICAN is a new local homeschool group in the Springtown area with co-ops, field trips and more available.
Parker County Christian Home Educators
Information on local activities and co-op classes. Fees are required.
Parker-Wise County Homeschooling Group
A Facebook page for a Homeschooling networking group which serves Parker and Wise County areas.
Swing City Homeschool Fellowship
Meeting weekly for Bible study and swing dance lessons at Cross Point Nazarene Church in Azle, this Christian-based organization offers wholesome family dances throughout the year, including a Homeschool Prom.
WACHE (Westside Association of Christian Home Educators)
This homeschool cooperative has members living on the west side of Ft. Worth, but is also open to membership outside of that area. Offering activities, programs, classes and fellowship to supplement your homeschooling, you can locate classes on the schedule page here.

Aledo Christian School Homeschool Classes
View the current course descriptions to find out what subjects are offered at grade and age level for your students. Class fees and/or supplies may apply.
Doss Kids Programs
Check the calendar to register for upcoming Homeschool Days. Preschool Storytime is on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Each month also offers History Alive, a free hands-on history lesson. The STEAM lab includes self-guided experiments and each Spring Break and has several activities to enjoy. Summer Camps require registration.
Fort Worth Zoo
The zoo offers homeschool classes during the school year for children (ages 6-12) which include a live animal presentation, a zoo hike, and admission on the class day. The same class is offered two times per month on two different topics (one for the younger, and one for the older age group). Volunteers from age 12-17 are also accepted after an interview process to assist with Zoo Preschool crafts, excursions, and the Summer Zoo Camp.
The Learning Den
Another option in nearby Wise county, this consignment shop for used curriculum and similar items offers free and low-cost classes such as art, STEM, history and more. They have a vision to serve and encourage the local homeschool community.
Primitive Wilderness Survival
Homeschoolers ages 5-12 can experience this outdoor learning classroom near Bridgeport as a supplement to your daily curriculum. The kids’ courses focus on connecting with the natural world through interactive walks, crafts, identifying plants and animals, and other nature science exploration. By including survival skills knowledge for wilderness areas, your children will learn invaluable skills for a lifetime of outdoor enjoyment.
WISE Christian Homeschool
If you live closer to the northern Parker County border, this could be a convenient option for classes. Based out of Bridgeport, courses for all grade levels and various interests are available. Registration fees apply.
Homeschool Sports
The Karate University
At the Karate University, your student can get physically fit while forming new friendships. Homeschool classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 p.m. You can choose online or in-person training in various martial art skills.
Nock It Archery Center
Homeschool Archery Team meets every Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Decatur. Homeschoolers (ages 8-18) in the Parker-Wise area are welcome to attend. Participation fees apply.
Parker-Tarrant Home School Sports
PTHSS offers volleyball, basketball, baseball, and football. Fees are required.
Weatherford Express
This local homeschool sports team offers 6-man football, a football spirit team, basketball and volleyball. Fees are required.
Homeschool Fun
Clark Gardens
A great place to enjoy nature and learn about horticulture as well as local history! Clark Gardens is home to one of the largest direct descendent historic tree trails in the nation. Walk through the Labyrinth and see the Pollination Islands. Clark Station honors historical railroads with scaled models of historic railroads in Parker and Palo Pinto counties. Educational group tours are also available.
Film Alley Homeschoolers’ Day Out
This fun local entertainment option should be highlighted. Every Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., homeschoolers get a family price of $15 (up to 8) to bowl and includes shoes. More information is also available on Film Alley’s Facebook page.
Legacy Christian Academy of Granbury
Area homeschoolers are invited to monthly skating parties sponsored by Legacy Christian Academy at the Granbury Skating Rink from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Skater fee is $5 per person. Dates can be found on the Events page for Legacy.
The Rock of Sports and Performing Arts
Open gym time is available for preschoolers 9 months to 6 years old on Fridays from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. for $10 per child. Homeschool Plays Days offer gym time, crafts and more for ages 3 to 12 on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for $30 per child. Call and ask for more information.
The Swim Lesson People
Swim lessons, water fitness and parties are offered year round for all ages in an indoor facility. Homeschool Open Swim is the last Friday of each month for a two-hour period. Cost is $5 per swimmer and place a reservation ahead of time.
Urban Air (Aledo) School Day Play
Urban Air opens up their park during the school day on Fridays from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for homeschoolers. Come enjoy active play or use as a PE credit.
Hybrid Schools
Founders Fine Arts Academy of Parker County
With a focus on the Fine Arts, this homeschoool cooperative offers dance, music, creative writing, art, Spanish, musical theatre, sewing, shop, culinary arts, debate, Boys and Girls Club, 4-H and more. Founders has now added a hybrid option of small classes and individualized learning in Abeka® curriculum for grades K-12.
Heritage Christian Academy
Core or a la carte classes for homeschoolers available at this local co-op in Granbury. Social memberships also available for those interested in field trips, outings, and travel. Innovative teaching methods are employed and combined with family learning experiences. A Theatre Arts class and private voice lessons also available. Legacy Christian Academy of Granbury
Using classically based curriculum, Legacy Christian Academy of Granbury offers an abbreviated schedule three days a week and provides an individualized learning experience for each student.
Live Oak Learning Montessori
Looking for a local Montessori option for PK-2nd grade with a certified Montessori guide? This new Montessori school in Weatherford offers a co-op and enrichment program that works as a hybrid homeschool model. You can choose the morning schedule only for your child and/or afternoon enrichment time. They also provide homeschool parent coaching, online school, and rent Montessori materials for use at home. If you enjoy the Montessori educational approach, this is a great place to find like-minded families.
Mosaic Academy
This private part-time K-12 school for Home Educators is located in Fort Worth. They partner with parents to provide a selection of courses, electives, and socialization options that meets the learning needs of each student while offering a faith-based teaching approach. Apply for admission here.
Oakridge Christian Academy
ORCA is a hybrid program in Hudson Oaks led by instructors who facilitate in-class instruction with small group participation in service projects and field trips to accelerate learning and growth. Additional assignments for students are provided to complete throughout the week at home. A distance learning option is also available, along with an electives schedule for afternoons on class days.
Parker County Scholars
Certified teachers provide tutoring in homeschool groups of 8 students or less for reading and math grades K-8th. Meeting 2 days a week, for 3 hour sessions. Think of this teaching pod model as a support system for your homeschool in determining your child’s progress and keeping them on track. Monthly tuition fees apply. Electives like art, music, theater, architecture, and Spanish are also being offered for grades 3-8. Space is limited.
Pinnacle Christian School
As a Christian private school, this hybrid school college-preparatory teaching with the joys of homeschooling. Students attend class on Tuesdays & Thursdays to engage in group projects, science lab work, STEM-based learning, and more while gaining support and accountability.
The Rock Academy
This hybrid private Christian school for K-12th grade partners with families and meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Abeka curriculum is paired with hands-on projects integrating STEAM, and fun electives are offered like dance, gymnastics, and musical theater. Open gym for preschoolers and Homeschool Play Days are also available for a small fee.
SEEK Collaborative
SEEK Collaborative is a new hybrid school in Parker County meeting two days a week. Stressing a hands-on approach and encouraging life-long learning, parents and students of this community are committed to a Christian worldview. Travis Academy of Fine Arts
TAFA offers opportunities for homeschool students to participate in group-based artistic expression. Band, ballet, choir, worship leadership and songwriting classes require an audition and application process. Fees are required upon approval.
Weatherford Music Academy
This new Parker county music school offers private piano, guitar, voice, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, woodwind and brass instrument lessons and focuses on music technology and development programs such as songwriting. Art classes are also an option. Daytime lessons are available for preschoolers, homeschoolers, and adults.

Aledo Music Academy
This is the newest branch of the Weatherford Music Academy, offering private music lessons convenient to residents in East Parker county. Choose individual instruction on ukulele, guitar, band instruments, piano, voice, drum and violin, as well as summer music camps, recitals and reward systems for your children. Unique opportunities for the budding musician are available like nowhere else in Texas! By using the most up-to-date technology for inspiration and sharing, such as Zoom lessons and green screen music videos as well as custom photography, WMA and AMA music studios strive to provide confident and prepared students for the future of music.
Bergmann School of Dance
Classical ballet is the foundation for other dance styles classes, such as tap and jazz. Angela focuses on dance education rather than competition in her approach and is also a certified Pilates instructor, performing liturgical dance for worship services and workshops.
The Burch School of Music
This local brother-sister team offers lessons in Kindermusik®; and piano lessons for all age levels.
ColorMusic
Local lessons are available in piano or organ from an experienced classroom and homeschool teacher. Ms. Leigh Johansen has experience across all ages and especially excels at the early learning and elementary levels. She has developed a teaching system that incorporates colors to teach keyboarding skills while offering a repertoire of various musical styles. Immediate openings for lessons are available.
Lakeshore Drive Academy of the Arts
Private piano and voice lessons are taught by qualified teachers as a ministry of Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church. Drama lessons are also available.
Parker County Childbloom® Guitar Program
Kevin Townson provides small group guitar lessons in a step by step program called Childbloom®. Private lessons are also available.
