The Weatherford Public Library has been recognized for its excellence in library services and programming by the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA), an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League. The library has been awarded the prestigious 2023 Achievement of Library Excellence Award, which recognizes libraries that demonstrate excellence in each of ten categories, including customer service, technology, and community engagement.
“The Weatherford Public Library has always been committed to providing exceptional library services to our community, and this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our outstanding team,” said Director of Library Services, Erin Spicer.
The Weatherford Public Library demonstrated distinction with its many programs and services including the annual Summer Reading Program, monthly homeschool events, early literacy storytimes, AARP Tax Aide, and many others.
Of the 545 public libraries in Texas, only 84 received this award in 2023, placing it in the top 15% of all public libraries in the state. This is the sixth year the library has been awarded this honor.
