Online Vehicle Scams

If it sounds too good to be true……..it is!!

Another increase has been seen in the number of frauds occurring involving vehicles sold on websites such as Craigslist and EBAY motors as well as individuals claiming to have a house to rent.

Typically the criminal will put up a false ad on one of these sites and attempt to get you to wire payment for the vehicle for shipping the vehicle or request the first/last months rent or security deposit.

Remember once you have wired the money it's gone, the money transfer business will not refund your money even if it's fraud.

The best rule of thumb is to do the purchase transactions and receive the vehicle in person or meet with a real estate agent/home owners in person.
