Dismissible Offenses


Request a compliance dismissal online (Expired Registration, Expired Driver's License and Fail to Display Driver's License - all other compliance dismissals please contact the court.

 The following offenses may be dismissible:
  • Expired Registration

    - If the defendant registers the vehicle that is the subject of the citation and provides proof to the court of current registration, with the late registration penalty added by the Department of Motor Vehicles, by the defendant's initial appearance date, the court may dismiss the charge with a $20 fee.
  • Expired Driver’s License

    - If the defendant renews the driver’s license and provides to the court proof of renewal by the defendant's initial appearance date, the court may dismiss the charge with a $20 fee.
  • Fail To Display Driver’s License

    - If the defendant provides to the court proof of a driver's license issued to the defendant, appropriate for the type of vehicle operated, and valid at the time of the offense, the court will dismiss the charge with a  $10 fee.
  • Fail To Report Change of Address/Name

    - If the defendant remedies the defect and provides proof to the court by the defendant's initial appearance date, the court may dismiss the charge with a $20 fee.
  • Violate DL Restriction A

    - If corrected prior to the appearance date on the citation, and proof is provided to the court, there will be a $10 dismissal fee.
  • Obscured, No, or Only One License Plate

    - If defendant provides proof to the court by the initial appearance date that all plates are visible and mounted in appropriate places on vehicle or registration is attached to the vehicle that establishes the vehicle was registered for the period during which the offense was committed, the court may dismiss the charge with a $10 fee.
  • Fail To Maintain Proof Of Financial Responsibility (No Insurance)

    - If the defendant produces to the court proof of financial responsibility/insurance (for the defendant or the vehicle that was driven when the citation was issued) that was valid at the time the offense occurred, the court will dismiss the charge at no fee.
