Peddler Permits

What is a Peddler?

A peddler is a person who goes from place to place within the corporate limits of the city of Weatherford, Texas, in order to sell, offer for sale or to solicit orders for goods or services of any kind.

Peddler Permit Requirements

  1. Copy of current State Sales Tax Permit
  2. Driver's License
  3. Completed Permit Application
  4. Background Check completed by the Weatherford Police Department
  5. $100 Permit fee

Permit Guidelines

  1. Permit is good for 45 days from the issue date.
  2. Peddler must have permit on them at all times and be able to present it when requested.
  3. No hard sales will be tolerated.
  4. If you are asked to leave you must leave.
  5. No elderly abuse.
  6. No peddler may operate within the city between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday or anytime on Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day.
Violations of any of the above may result in a revoked permit.

Additional Information

Peddler permits are limited to the activities for which such permit is issued, and one type of permit does not allow the holder thereof to conduct any activity which would otherwise require another type of permit.

The issuance of a permit hereunder does not relieve any person from the requirements of any other provision of state or local law relating to or regulating the business activity proposed to be conducted by the person obtaining the permit.
